A Lesser Green By A Lesser God
By Karl J. Hansen, klimabedrag.dk
Al Gore, Greenpeace and friends want to do the physically impossible, believing they have godly power, they command CO2 level to be lowered to 350ppm or 0.035%. They might mean well, but let us look at the CO2 beast.
Is this green?
With increased CO2, also called plant food, plants and trees grow faster, better, becomes more resistant and uses less water. More animals, inclusive humans, demand more green. Nature is so clever, more animals produce more CO2, which in turn produces more plant food for the animals, this provides for more animals and round we go in the natural self supporting loop.
You learned this in school, but Al Gore and the not so green Greenpeace made you forget this basic knowledge. The ideal level of CO2 for plants and animals is somewhere above 1,000ppm or 0.1%.
Is this warm?
It is assumed that more CO2 leads to increase in temperature. It is also assumed that if CO2 level is doubled, the temperature will increase by less than 0.1 degree Celsius. You did not learn this in school, but it is seen as a realistic bet by the best scientists in this field. A CO2 level of 770ppm or 0.077%, which is double of todays value, would increase the current global temperature by max 0.1 degree Celsius.
Is this possible?
Some 800 years ago we had global warming, it was warmer than today, which caused the deep oceans to start warming. The deep oceans are very deep and acts as a delayed capacitor for huge amounts of CO2. This is the CO2 that is now being released into the atmosphere. Not even the mighty Al Gore can stop this. So even if we killed all animals, power-plants, cars and volcanoes, we might still not prevent CO2 level from increasing.
Is this verifiable?
The CO2 level has increased with a fairly steady pace since The Little Ice Age and although the temperature has increased during the same period, the temperature has gone up and down in periods of about 60 years. This is one of many verifications telling us that CO2 level has almost unmeasurable influence on the temperature.
Is it too high?
As we become more people, we need more green and preferably a warmer, wetter climate. More CO2 gives us all this. The more bacteria, animals, people, industry, household and transport, the more CO2 will be produced, just as we need it to sustain a green and living Earth.
