History of Danevang and Liberty Temperatures Rewritten PDF Print E-mail

It has been noted over and over how official temperature records for many, if not countless, weather stations have been doctored in a very suspicious way without any clear explanation to why.  As an example we have extracted two weather stations from the "U.S. Historical Climatology Network" and plotted the data via our own program, which is available on request.

Our plotting program skips any year with missing data, thus avoiding any subjective interpolation. There will simply be a strait line going from the year before to the year after the skipped year. The average of each year is calculated as the the sum of monthly temperatures divided with 12.

As seen from the above, very low temperatures are doctored away and the average temperature for the fist half of the 20th century are lowered. At this moment there could be a number of explanations why the historic data are rewritten. One reason could for example be that the researchers suspect weather stations previously were wrongly adjusted or situated. Another reason could be as sinister as to simply doctor the data to hide a missing significant increase in temperature throughout the 20th century and to this date.

A related issue is, that a lot of years in the raw dataset have months with undefined temperatures. This could open a door for the inventive researcher, to fill in the blanks with numbers satisfying a means to achieve a certain temperature trend, without changing the historic data too much. Sadly the scientists are them selves guilty of inspiring the skeptical to these fantasies, because they have not told us what the compensation is for and according to what rules they are applied.

Rewriting the history, without proper and clear explanation, leads to unease both in the scientific plenum, as well as among laymen. If we are to have any trust whatsoever in the official presentation of temperatures, the responsible parties must provide a detailed and clear explanation for the compensations they perform. A proper explanation cannot be hidden with the excuse that it is complicated, private property or irrelevant.
