ice area 20100913Have a look at the Arctic ROOS data, is it a measuring error? No particular explanation appears on Arctic ROOS, but I bet a few alarmist headlines will surface, hope they will not be too excited. To calm them, this is kind of weather and does not imply the global warming is speed diving into a death spiral. Have a look at the temperature in the Arctic, the sudden loss of sea ice cannot logically be associated with with "global warming". I will leave it to the experts to determine the actual reason; but I think we can leave global warming out of it.

Update September 16th 2010:

Morano from ClimateDepot was correct when he suggested me, "I believe it was satellite error."
The down spike has disappeared now and replaced by a few dots up and down.
