Now the climate science has reached the bottom in a good way.

After five years work, a group of researchers has drilled all the way down to the bottom of the inland ice on Greenland.  It has been done under the so called Neem-project, where over 300 researcher from 14 countries have participated.

Exactly 2,537.36 meter of ice core has been drilled, which corresponds to about 150,000 years back in the past, giving temperature and greenhouse gas concentration to mention a few.

"We expect our research to enhance our knowledge about the future climate and our ability to predict how fast and how much the oceans will rise", says project leader Dorte Dahl-Jensen.

"This information can be essential to the current climate debate", logistic coordinator Jørgen Peter Steffensen points out over the telephone from Greenland.
